EP 31: How To Do It All with Dr. Scott Spaulding

Podcast · November 4, 2020

I’ll make a bold statement right off the bat: This is potentially my favorite episode yet; perhaps because he unknowingly spoke directly into deeply rooted fears I’ve held for years. Perhaps because I wrote down more notes than I have from any other episode. It’s FULL of wisdom nuggets so grab a journal!

In Episode 31, we hear from Dr. Scott Spaulding. Of the many hats he wears, veterinarian, entrepreneur, CEO, mentor… husband and father are what I admire most in him.

But why?

I’ve been friends with he and his wife Nancy’s two children, Justin and Sara, for about 6 years and since the first time I met their family, I knew they had something special.

It was as if they were four hearts all beating the same rhythm and the song created by their unique sounds was one that made you want to get out of your seat and dance.

They laughed; all the time. They joked. They played. They encouraged each other. Never did I hear a passive aggressive comment directed towards another. I didn’t feel any tension. I didn’t sense that anyone was more important than the other. There wasn’t a favorite. There wasn’t resentment. There was quite simply, a beautiful family who truly loved and supported each other.

Not only that but they welcomed me into their family as if I was a sister. So much so that I was invited on their family vacation where I got a deeper look into what makes this family a great family.

On that trip I learned you CAN do it all. You CAN have it all. You CAN be it all. But how?

How can you do it all, have it all, and be it all while becoming a veterinarian, getting married, create a family while building a veterinarian practice and founding a national group of over 30 mixed animal, equine, and companion animal practices? Not only that, how does your marriage stay strong and the bond you have with your children just as strong? How is it your family comes out of that race stronger than it was at the beginning? How do you do all that while influencing your two children in a way that instills drive, grit, kindness, morals and deep family values in each of them?

These are the questions I get answered in today’s podcast. I meant it when I said this at the beginning; this is potentially my favorite episode yet. Dr. Spaulding inspires immense amount of hope and will give you the courage to SAY YES, to set audacious goals, to believe in yourself, and will leave you in a beautiful state of gratitude and URGENCY.

To Scott: Thank you. There are so many people in my shoes who fear being able to do it all and you’ve left me, and soon many others, encouraged in our own abilities to do so. I know for certain your message was meant for me so I can’t wait to hear how others are impacted as well.

To our listeners: Come with a humble heart, ready to receive a positive, grounding message of hope and belief.

I’m Charli, the creator of Fearlessly Inspired and the voice behind the podcasts. It’s quite ironic really, that I created a platform and called it “Fearlessly Inspired.” To the outside world, my life may look like the result of countless fearlessly inspired decisions. However, any of my past journeys have been ones in which I’ve felt absolute certainty in my heart that they would succeed.

We find out our strength only when we’re put in We find out our strength only when we’re put in situations that require its use.

I created Fearlessly Inspired to share stories of pain and struggle that end with HOPE to show others that their valley isn’t their end.

It’s where they’re being made stronger.

This quote gave me a vision of someone rising from the valley they’re in, climbing back up the mountain, with a light in their hands that shines so brightly it protects them on their journey back to the top.

That light, step by step, gives us strength and doesn’t allow us to surrender to the depths of the dark valley.

If you’re in a valley, light a candle, and allow its flame to realign you with your divine, higher self.

There ain’t no valley you’ll walk through that you can’t grow from or from which someone else can’t be impacted through you.

I got this. You got this. We all got this.✨🌟💥⭐️💫

Love,
Charli

Anyone else really enjoy their long break this wee Anyone else really enjoy their long break this weekend? (If you had one!) I know I did.

Returning to my alarm clock waking me up before the sun isn’t so bad as I really enjoy the stillness of the morning. But knowing my time and energy will be focused on work tasks instead of family time or personal tasks for enjoyment or growth, doesn’t excite me.

It’s not because I don’t value my job; I do. I value it extremely. Even with as much as I value it and respect it, that doesn’t mean I have to enjoy waking up on a Monday to start work. It’s ok to be honest with yourself.

When I get in this headspace of acting out of obligation instead of out of intrinsic motivation, I remind myself of how insanely blessed I am to be able to work, to be able to workout, to be fortunate enough to spend money on whatever it is I’m putting money towards.

Focus on what you’re grateful for instead of what you’re dreading and your life will feel drastically different. More joyful. More bliss. Less stress. Less resentment.

Happy Monday everyone 💓 #fearlesslyinspired
Awareness. A couple weeks ago in a, ‘Chats with Awareness. A couple weeks ago in a, ‘Chats with Charli’ podcast episode I covered: recharging your own batteries.

Are you able to recognize when you’re stressed? What does your body do? What does your mind say? What escapes your mouth that maybe shouldn’t?

“This too shall pass” is what I hear whenever I feel overwhelmed.

“But I’m going CRAY while waiting!” Follows it.

Breathe it in, breathe it out. Change your state. Resort back to your list of things that bring you joy, and DO one of them.
No matter your beliefs, when you come to the table No matter your beliefs, when you come to the table with an open heart and mind with the intention to connect with another heart and mind, you will find love and commonality. #transgenderawarenessweek #transgender #transman #transwoman #cisgender #fearlesslyinspired #lgbtq🌈 #love #acceptance #unity
